Westonka Youth Football (WYF) is a volunteer organization operated through Westonka Community Education and Services. WYF provides a great opportunity for kids to participate in organized skills development, flag football, and tackle football. We are dedicated to offering young people in grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football and the value of teamwork in a safe and fun environment.
The Westonka Youth Football (WYF) program begins in Kindergarten with a developmental skills program that runs through 2nd grade. In grades 3rd through 4th, the Westonka Youth Football program forms flag football teams and participates in an In-House program.
3-4 Grade Flag Football Practices will begin on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00pm. Parents should plan to attend the first practice to meet with coaches and teammates. The first game will take place on Tuesday, August 27th. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at MWHS Field #12 (Track) and Field #10 (JV Baseball Field). These fields are next to each other. The season will conclude on Saturday, October 12th. A complete season schedule will be emailed prior to the start of the season. Flag Football participants will receive a league/team t-shirt that they are able to keep at the conclusion of the season.
Westonka Youth Football is a parent sponsored equipment program. This means that parents can elect to purchase new or used equipment each season. It also allows parents to decide what type of helmet and equipment is preferred for their child. Parents have control over the condition of their child's football equipment each year.
